This Oktoberfest season, if a stein of Bavarian beer and tasty German dishes are what you crave, Bermuda has got you covered.
Every year, the Historic Victualling Yard at The Royal Naval Dockyard pulls out all the stops for Oktoberfest. From October 8 – 11, you can sit down at a long trestle table beneath a traditional blue-and-white tent and enjoy food, beer and live entertainment.
Headlining this year will be Oompah Brass, an incredible brass ensemble from the UK renown for lending favourite rock n’ roll tunes like “Sweet Child O’ Mine” and “Bohemian Rhapsody” their traditional oompah flair.
You can enjoy the live music with a few pints of locally brewed beer from Dockyard Brewing Co., Bermuda’s only microbrewery and the only ale that can claim to be made 100 percent in Bermuda. The brewery will offer a selection of five beers and ales available to order, including Dockyard Brewery’s flagship brew, Somers Amber Ale.
Don’t drink on an empty stomach, though! Make sure to come with an appetite for some traditional German food. The Frog & Onion Pub will be serving up plates of savoury roasted chicken and bratwurst, tangy sauerkraut and soft pretzels with dipping mustard. Bonus: They’ll be offering full, walk-up bar service all night.
