The Rosedon hotel is putting Bermuda on the map as a top ecotourism destination.
The hotel has become the first on the island to receive silver status in the TripAdvisor GreenLeaders™ Program, which aims at helping a community of more than 200 million travellers find accommodations around the globe that are engaged in eco-friendly practices.
“We were pleasantly surprised that we were approved for silver level and that we’re the first hotel in Bermuda to acquire it,” Rosedon’s manager Muriel Richardson told the Royal Gazette.
Travellers can now search for Rosedon among other hotels on TripAdvisor that have achieved GreenLeaders™ status and view a detailed list of the hotel’s green practices.
The boutique hotel implemented solar energy usage last year, as well as the use of LED lighting both indoors and outdoors.
Among their additional green practices, Rosedon makes a conscious effort to recycle and conserve water. The hotel also takes sustainable dining to a whole new level by growing bananas right on the property. Other fruits, vegetables and fish are all locally sourced.
Up next, Rosedon has set their sights on earning gold, then platinum status — and it’s only a matter of time before they do. Did we mention the hotel is rated number two in Bermuda on TripAdvisor, to boot?
