With so many fantastic restaurants to try in Bermuda, there’s no better time to savour the menus of as many as you can than during Bermuda Restaurant Week. From January 14 through February 5, nearly 50 of Bermuda’s top restaurants will showcase three-course dinner menus at reduced prices. Each of the eatery’s sous chefs will prepare options for appetizers, entrees and desserts at $29, $39 and $49 BMD per person. And it’s not just an eating triathlon — it’s also a competition for culinary talent. Diners will be given the opportunity to judge restaurants on not only the quality of food and service, but on how well they implement Bermuda’s unique flavour. A winner will be chosen for each price class and will win the coveted People’s Choice Award.
Ready to eat your way through Bermuda? Here’s a sampling of some of the restaurant offerings to expect.
One of the longest standing restaurants in Bermuda, La Trattoria serves up Italian fare sure to leave your tastebuds tingling. A fan favourite, the restaurant has jumped up to the second menu category from its position in 2015, promising even better offerings in 2016. The menu features wild-caught shrimp in a “Bermuda gold” liqueur sauce and Barolo wine-braised short ribs. For dessert, the dark n’ stormy ginger bread topped with vanilla ice cream and Gosling’s Black Rum sauce is cosy spin on a Bermudian favourite.

With La Trattoria putting up a tough competition this year, Muse will be defending its position in the mid-priced category and has the menu to prove it. The starter dish puts a dinnertime spin on a traditional Bermudian codfish breakfast and can be followed by island-flavoured rockfish, chicken, steak or a combination of all three. End your meal on a sweet note with a molten chocolate tart with Bermuda Gold Rum fermented loquats or burnt wild prickly pear and natal plum custard.

RED Steakhouse & Bar
As last year’s winner of the People’s Choice Award, RED is also dishing up plenty of Bermudian flavour. The upscale steakhouse features a menu of traditional Bermudian dishes like BBQ pork and Bermuda fish chowder. The second course consists of island rockfish with handmade pasta or beef short rib with a side of light sides. For dessert, the rich flavours of Bermuda also take center stage. Try the trio of beignets with dark rum flambéed banana or the sticky date pudding.
